New technology of processing titanium nickel wire
The Material Research Institute of Tohoku University in Japan has successfully developed a new process for processing titanium nickel shape memory wire, which is called cladding chip extrusion method.
The technological process of this processing method mainly includes the following basic steps:
1、Multilayer composite sheets composed of different metal sheets are prepared by cladding rolling. The thickness ratio of various metal layers depends on the determined chemical composition.
2、Cut the rolled composite sheet into chips, and then fill the chips into containers to make billets.
3、The blank is extruded into thin rods, and then processed into fine wires.
4、Through thermal diffusion treatment, the fine wire is transformed into the desired titanium nickel intermetallic compound wire.
Using this process, the machinability of the composite can be improved, and the fine wires with good microstructure can be obtained with a high reduction rate.
